Canadensys Lunar Cameras to Begin Data Interface Testing in Preparation for Deployment on Intuitive Machines IM-1 Lunar Mission

Aug 26, 2022

(Toronto, ON – August 26, 2022) Canadensys Aerospace Corp. is pleased to announce that the Canadensys lunar cameras designed and built for the Intuitive Machines IM-1 lunar lander mission are in Houston and about to begin final Data Interface Testing with Intuitive Machines in preparation for the IM-1 lunar mission.

Frank Teti, General Manager of the Canadensys Toronto Facility, states, “ This key end-to-end test will demonstrate the ability of our cameras to take imagery of the lunar surface, and for the combined Intuitive Machines and Canadensys team to receive the data for further processing on Earth.”

These tests, performed on-site at Intuitive Machines in Houston, Texas, and remotely from Canadensys’ test facilities in Ontario, will prove that the cameras can be commanded remotely and telemetry received, over a flight representative communication link between the control rooms at Intuitive Machines and Canadensys.

Trent Martin, Vice President of Space Systems at Intuitive Machines says “We chose Canadensys Aerospace’s cameras for their robust design and the company’s commitment to ongoing support on our first mission to the Moon.   In fact, we have now baselined the Canadensys imaging systems as part of our lunar lander supply chain, and have engaged them further, for the IM-2 mission.”

Christian Sallaberger, Canadensys President & CEO, added “Intuitive Machines is breaking new ground with their pioneering lunar lander missions and we are honored to be supporting them in these endeavours.”
