(Toronto, ON – July 14, 2022) Canadensys Aerospace Corporation has renewed its partnership with Help A Village Effort (HAVE Canada) to fund the drilling and maintenance of fresh water wells in Nabarangpur, India. Through a project titled Safe, Sustainable Water and Sanitation for All facilitated by Rural Community Health Centre (RUCHC), Canadensys and HAVE Canada have pledged their continued support which will have measurable impacts on the lives of people in India’s poorest district.
The partnership began in 2021 with a commitment to fund two of 15 wells in Nabarangpur. These wells provide access to clean drinking water throughout the village, and help educate on the effective management of water resources. Water access and sanitation are essential for rural development and quality of life. These wells will lower infant mortality rates and stomach infection from water-borne diseases, kids will be given an opportunity for education rather than spending time walking for water, and the wells give women the freedom of time to pursue education or earn extra income by cultivating food to feed their family.
Water is paramount for space exploration company Canadensys Aerospace. “Water is critical for life support and propulsion in all astronaut and outpost missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond,” says Christian Sallaberger, President and CEO, Canadensys. “Finding and harvesting water is a key element of many lunar exploration activities, including our Lunar Rover missions as well as our lunar plant-growth and food production systems. We also design and manufacture avionics and control electronics for spacecraft powered by water-plasma engines. The importance of water to the work that we do made it an easy decision to work with HAVE Canada. Providing access to clean drinking water here on Earth has a natural connection to what we do in space.”
HAVE Canada is a Canadian non-denominational, non-political charity dedicated to providing clean water to the underprivileged around the world. “Help A Village Effort’s mission is to provide better living conditions for people in India through the provision of some of life’s essentials – safe drinking water, sanitation and good hygiene education. It is HAVE’s belief that when people have the basic necessities of life, self-determination and empowerment will follow,” says Michaele Coneybeare, Chairperson, HAVE Canada.
This year, Canadensys has pledged sponsorship for three additional wells as part of their ongoing commitment to support Safe, Sustainable Water and Sanitation for All.
